The Seattle Mariners are expected to pursue rotation help after the Major League Baseball lockout, according to a report.

Seattle already added Robbie Ray in free agency on a five-year, $115 million deal.

Behind Ray, the Mariners have Chris Flexen, Marco Gonzales and Logan Gilbert in the starting rotation.

The Chicago Cubs and San Diego Padres were in talks last summer about a trade that would have sent Eric Hosmer and "a highly regarded prospect" to Chicago, according to a report.

The possible return for Hosmer wasn't reported, but likely wouldn't have been very much.

Hosmer was known to be available prior to the trade deadline, as the Padres were exploring ways to both lessen their luxury tax burdens in 2021 and in the future.

The Boston Red Sox have sent Hunter Renfroe to the Milwaukee Brewers for Jackie Bradley, Jr. and two prospects.

Bradley, 31, was an important cog for the Red Sox from 2013 to 2020 before signing a two-year deal with the Brewers last offseason.

Boston also received infielders David Hamilton and Alex Binelas in the deal.

Renfroe, 29, was a pleasant surprise from the Red Sox this past season. He posted career bests in batting average (.259), runs scored (89), doubles (33), extra-base hits (64) and RBIs (96), while slugging 31 home runs.

The Miami Marlins have acquired Joey Wendle from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for prospect Kameron Misner.

To make room for Wendle, the Marlins designated Lewis Brinson for assignment.

Miami also traded Jorge Alfaro to the San Diego Padres on Tuesday.
